IAS Officer Sunil Paliwal appointed as Chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India
Shri Sunil Paliwal, an IAS Officer of 1993-batch of Tamil Nadu cadre who is currently serving as Chairperson at Chennai Port Trust has been appointed as Chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post to Secretary level.
New Delhi: Shri Sunil Paliwal, an IAS Officer of 1993-batch of Tamil Nadu cadre who is currently serving as Chairperson at Chennai Port Trust has been appointed as Chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post to Secretary level.
He has a degree in B.Tech. Computer Science and an MBA, he holds a key position at Rajaji Salai, Chennai. He brings a vast experience in English, Hindi, and Tamil language and wealth of experience and expertise to his role in overseeing port, shipping, and waterway affairs.
Further, Shri Atish Chandra, IAS (BH:94), Special Secretary, Prime Minister's Office has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, w.e.f. 01.02.2026.
