Additional Secretary-Coal and CIL Chairman visits Jharia Rehabilitation site
A Multi Skill Development Institute (MSDI) at Belgaria, designed to provide training to the local youth was also inaugurated by the Additional Secretary, Coal.

Dhanbad: Shri M. Nagaraju, Additional Secretary, Govt. of India, Ministry of Coal and Shri P.M. Prasad, Chairman, Coal India visited the Jharia Rehabilitation and Development Authority site at Belgaria and the Karmatand Township in Dhanbad.
The rehabilitation sites in Belgaria and Karmatand have been developed in accordance with the Jharia Master Plan. Belgaria is intended to accommodate the local population, whereas Karmatand Township has been developed to provide housing facilities for BCCL employees.

They also reviewed the highwall mining operations at Block II Area and inspected the operations of the 5.0 MTPA Madhuband Washery, one of the largest Coking Coal Washery in India.
Shri Samiran Dutta, CMD, BCCL, Shri Varun Ranjan, District Collector (DC), Dhanbad and senior management of BCCL were present during the visit.
