Rajnath Singh to Launch Yantra India's 10,000-Ton Aluminium Extrusion Press Project in Nagpur
New Delhi, 18 June 2026: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will perform the Bhoomi Pujan for Yantra India Limited's state-of-the-art 10,000-ton aluminium extrusion press at the Ordnance Factory, Ambajhari, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on June 19, 2026.
The ceremony will be attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar and senior officials from the Department of Defence Production and Yantra India Limited.
Major Boost to India's Defence Manufacturing
According to the Ministry of Defence, the proposed 10,000-ton aluminium extrusion press will emerge as a significant national asset for the defence manufacturing sector.
The facility will enhance India's capability to manufacture large, high-strength and precision aluminium alloy extrusions required for defence and aerospace applications.
Supporting Aatmanirbhar Bharat
The project is expected to reduce India's dependence on imports of critical aluminium extruded components while strengthening indigenous manufacturing capabilities under the government's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The new facility is also expected to support the growing requirements of the defence and aerospace sectors and improve self-reliance in strategic manufacturing.
