BHEL extends support to families of employees who succumbed to Covid-19 pandemic

New Delhi: An integrated power plant equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has launched an assistance scheme for extending support to families of employees who succumbed to the Covid-19 pandemic. As per the scheme, BHEL is providing monthly Monetary Assistance of 50% of the last-drawn Basic Pay (within Rs.25,000 to Rs.50,000), up to 5 Years or notional superannuation whichever is earlier. Families of site employees are being provided an additional 15% benefit.


The first payment (including accrued arrears) to the beneficiaries, was jointly released today by Mr. Subodh Gupta, Director (Finance) and Mr. Anil Kapoor, Director (HR) and Director (Power) – Addl. Charge. 


The scheme has been launched with the primary objective of enabling the families to recover from the social, psychological and monetary distress arising out of the loss of the deceased employees. 


As a part of the scheme, BHEL is also providing Housing Assistance to the families till 5 Years or notional superannuation, whichever is earlier and Medical Assistance till superannuation.
