IREDA Allocates Rs. 1.05 Crore for Development of Sport Science Centre in Uttarakhand
The CSR project is sanctioned for the development of a Sport Science Centre Hall (approximately 298 Sq. meters) at Koteshwar, Tehri in Uttarakhand to support the training of Indian athletes in the Kayaking & Canoeing discipline.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed today between the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), and SEWA-THDC, a THDCIL Sponsored not-for-profit registered society, for providing financial assistance of Rs. 1.05 Crore funded by IREDA.

The MoA was signed by Ms Durre Shahwar, Additional General Manager (HR), IREDA and Shri Amardeep, General Manager (S&E), THDCIL in the presence of Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD (IREDA), Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance and Projects), IREDA, Shri Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL and other Senior management of IREDA.
Read Also : Coal Ministry Achieves 411.62 MT Production in FY 2024-25Speaking on the occasion, CMD, IREDA highlighted that the development of Sport Science Centre Hall is a fundamental milestone towards the planned development of a world-class High-Performance Academy dedicated to the sport of Kayaking and Canoeing, with the goal of long-term athlete development and excellence situated in Koteshwar, Tehri, Uttarakhand.

The CSR initiative gets covered under the CSR activities notified under the schedule VII of Section 135 of the Company’s Act – which uplifts training to promote rural sports, nationally recognised sports, paralympic sports and Olympic sports.
