New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL) under CSR sponsored Skill Development training program in Post Diploma & Post Graduate Diploma Courses to 48 Project Affected Persons (PAPs) & Unemployed Youth of Cuddalore Dist., Tamil Nadu, in collaboration with National Power Training Institute (NPTI) has been inaugurated by Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI in the august presence of Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLCIL, as Chief Guest.

Functional Directors of NLCIL Shri Mohan Reddy. K, Shri Samir Swarup and Shri Venkatachalam.M have also participated in the historic event which will provide the highest quality learning opportunity in power sector large number of unemployed youths.

Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL in his Chief Guest address congratulated the newly joined candidates under NLCIL’s CSR programme which is specifically for the NLCIL’s Project Affects Persons (PAP’s) and advised to acquire maximum technical as well as administrative knowledge by this Training programme. He also stated that more such human resource should be developed by NPTI to bridge the gap of Knowledge and Expertise requirement in the power sector to attain India as a developed country.

He also pointed the NLCIL’s contribution in providing employment to PAP’s by awarding 20 bonus marks and also recruiting the entire Diploma in Mining candidates who got qualified under NLCIL’s sponsored programme with Annamalai University. He also suggested for including the Renewable Energy module in the NPTI Diploma Course which is offered now under NLCIL’s CSR Programme.

Dr. Tripta Thakur in her inaugural address stated that this kind of CSR sponsored NPTI diploma Tranining course is the first of its kind in the country.  

This collaboration between NLCIL & NPTI aims to provide job oriented Post-Diploma Courses and Post-Graduate Diploma Courses in Power Plant Engineering, each lasting one year, to a total of 50 individuals, comprising Project Affected Persons (PAPs) of NLCIL operating areas in Neyveli and deserving unemployed youth from Cuddalore Dist., Tamil Nadu. This training course will pave way for the candidates to get employment opportunities in premier companies.

Both NLCIL and NPTI are leading premier National organizations in their respective fields and are desirous of working together as a team to achieve National objectives towards providing employment opportunities to the youth and also to fulfill the industrial demand for skilled workforce.
