NRL inked an agreement with CSIR to recycle wastewater into value-added product
Assam: Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) inked an agreement with CSIR - North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat to develop a suitable process for treating phenolic wastewater, recycling treated water, and converting phenol to a value-added product.
Taken up as a Research and Development project with funding of INR 1.27 crore from NRL, CSIR-NEIST will develop the pilot plant within two years.
The agreement was signed by NRL General Manager (Speciality Chemical), Mr. Ghanashyam Hazarika, and Director, CSIR-NEIST, Dr. G. Narahari Shastry in presence of officials from NRL and CSIR-NEIST on 24 February 2021 at NEIST, Jorhat.
