SJVN CMD laid foundation stone of Office building at Dam Site of 210 MW Luhri Stage-1 HEP

SHIMLA: Smt. Geeta Kapur, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN visited the 210 MW Luhri Stage-1 Hydro Electric Project in Himachal Pradesh today. During her visit, she laid the foundation stone of the Office Building at the Dam site of the project in village Palahi in district Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, she inaugurated the Portable Cabins to be utilized as temporary site office until the completion of the office building. Sh. Sunil Choudhary, the Head of Project, and senior project officials accompanied her on this occasion.

Smt. Geeta Kapoor Took a detailed review of the ongoing construction activities at the Power House, FPW and Plunge Pool, Nallah Diversion, Hydro – Mechanical and Electro–Mechanical Works. Progress across all project sites is at an advanced stage and proceeding at a rapid pace. She expressed satisfaction with the progress of activities in all major components and encouraged project officials and contractors to adhere to a planned approach to achieve critical project schedule milestones.

The 210 MW Stage-1 Hydro Electric Project is located on river Satluj spread over Shimla, Kullu and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh. Foundation Stone of the project was laid by Hon'ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi on 27 th December 2021. With an estimated cost of Rs 1810 crores, upon completion, the project is expected to generate 758 million units of electricity annually. It is contributing to the overall development of the region and the state, with community asset creation, infrastructure development and generation of direct and indirect employment opportunities.
