ACME Solar Wins 130 MW Round-the-Clock Renewable Energy Bid
ACME Solar Holdings has been declared the successful bidder for a 130 MW capacity under the e-Reverse auction conducted by REMCL (Railway Energy Management Company Limited) for its ambitious 1,000 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy project.
The company secured the bid at a competitive tariff of Rs 4.35 per unit.
The tender aims to procure consistent, high-availability power for the Indian Railways, addressing their unique and continuous load requirements. Under the terms of the agreement, the Railways will execute a direct Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ACME Solar, thereby streamlining the process by eliminating intermediaries.
The discovered tariff of Rs 4.35/unit underscores the increasing financial viability of hybrid renewable energy solutions that combine co-located solar, wind, and battery storage to deliver high capacity utilisation factor (CUF) power 24/7.
As per the tender guidelines, ACME Solar is required to supply firm, round-the-clock clean power from its ISTS-connected projects, complemented by dispatchable sources and/or Energy Storage Systems (ESS). The project mandates a minimum annual availability of 75% for the initial three years post-commissioning, which will subsequently increase to 85%.
ACME Solar is expected to commission the project within 30 months of signing the PPA, utilizing existing land and connectivity resources within its portfolio. The company is a fully integrated renewable energy player in India with a diverse portfolio including solar, wind, storage, and Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects.
In terms of financial performance, ACME Solar Holdings reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 115.06 crore in Q2 FY26, marking a sharp increase of 652.51% over the Rs 15.29 crore recorded in Q2 FY25. Revenue from operations also saw a significant jump of 80.18% year-over-year (YoY) to Rs 467.74 crore in Q1 September 2025. Shares of ACME Solar Holdings closed 0.99% lower at Rs 235.65 on the BSE.
