CCI Approves Acquisition of Jhajjar Power Limited by Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the proposal for Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited to acquire 100% shareholding of Jhajjar Power Limited.

Under the transaction, Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited—the acquiring company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Jindal Power Limited (JPL)—will take complete ownership of Jhajjar Power Limited, which operates in thermal power production. JPL itself is an established player in the power generation sector, including thermal power.

The approval allows the two power-sector entities to move forward with the combination. CCI stated that the detailed order will be issued separately.
