Petronet LNG gets nod for additional investment to set up R-LNG Terminal in Gujarat
Petronet LNG has received in principle approval for a 5 MMTPA land based LNG terminal at Gopalpur Port Odisha with a total investment of 6354.80 crore. The project set to complete in three years replaces the earlier 4 MMTPA FSRU plan.

Petronet LNG has announced that it has been granted in-principle approval for additional investment for setting up of land-based R-LNG Terminal of 5 MMTPA capacity at Gopalpur Port, Ganjam, Odisha from earlier approval of 4 MMTPA FSRU based LNG terminal.

The Board of Directors of the Company, in its meeting held on Friday, 25th July 2025, inter-alia, accorded in-principle additional investment approval for setting up of a 5 MMTPA land-based LNG Terminal at Gopalpur from earlier approval of 4 MMTPA Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) based LNG terminal for an incremental project cost Rs. 4,048.80 crores (including taxes and duties).
The Company’s capacity is not defined yet as it is first greenfield LNG terminal at East coast of India at Gopalpur Port, Distt. Ganjam, Odisha. The time period to complete the project is three years. The Overall Investment required is Approximately Rs. 6,354.80 crores (including taxes and duties).

Shares of Petronet LNG are trading down by 1.61% at Rs 302.70 at BSE.
