Suzlon Energy Appoints Ajay Kapur as Group CEO, Elevates J.P. Chalasani to Group Executive Council

New Delhi, February 24, 2026: Suzlon Energy Limited, India’s leading renewable energy solutions company, today announced major leadership transitions as part of its Suzlon 2.0 vision, aimed at transforming the company into a full-stack renewable energy solutions provider.

The Board of Directors, in a meeting held today, approved the following key decisions:

  • J.P. Chalasani has been elevated to the Group Executive Council (GEC), continuing as a Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) of the company.

  • Ajay Kapur has been appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO) and KMP, effective immediately.

  • Girish Vanvari (DIN: 07376482) has been appointed as an Independent Director for a term of five years, subject to shareholder approval via postal ballot.

New Leadership Structure to Drive Growth and Transformation

The formation of the Group Executive Council marks a strategic move to steer the long-term and medium-term growth agenda of the Suzlon Group. The GEC, including Mr. Chalasani, will focus on enterprise-wide priorities, portfolio strategy, and capital allocation across emerging and existing businesses.

Ajay Kapur to Lead as Group CEO

Ajay Kapur, with over 36 years of experience across infrastructure, construction, power, and heavy metals, joins Suzlon after serving as Managing Director of Ambuja Cements Limited (Adani Group Company). He will lead Suzlon’s transition from a wind energy solutions provider to a full-stack renewable energy solutions conglomerate.

Strengthening Corporate Governance

Girish Vanvari, a Chartered Accountant with more than three decades of experience in taxation, corporate finance, M&A, and governance, joins the Board as an Independent Director. His appointment is aimed at enhancing financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and governance frameworks across Suzlon.

Commitment to ESG and Sustainability

Aligned with its Suzlon 2.0 vision, the company continues to prioritize sustainability and ESG initiatives:

  • Suzlon is the first Indian energy company to join the RE100 initiative, targeting 100% renewable energy in manufacturing facilities by 2030.

  • Active member of EV100, aiming for complete vehicle electrification by 2035.
