Adani Power Subsidiary Secures 558 MW PPA from Tamil Nadu Discom
Ahmedabad / Chennai, 24 February 2026: Adani Power Limited (APL), India’s largest private power producer, announced that its subsidiary, Moxie Power Generation Ltd. (MPGL), has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) for the supply of 558 MW (net) of electricity over a period of five years.
MPGL operates a 1,200 MW (2x600 MW) thermal power plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, and emerged as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender, offering a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit. The power supply under this agreement is scheduled to commence on 1 April 2026.
With this LoA, both units of the Tuticorin plant now have long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), bringing over 95% of Adani Power’s operating capacity under medium-to-long-term contracts. This ensures stable revenue visibility and reduces exposure to short-term market fluctuations. The company aims to achieve near 100% PPA tie-up for all operational and under-commissioning plants in the coming years.
This additional 558 MW of reliable power will strengthen grid stability in Tamil Nadu and support uninterrupted electricity supply for households, industries, and businesses. The competitive tariff is expected to deliver more affordable and dependable energy to consumers.
