New Delhi: In a significant step toward strengthening coordinated national aviation planning, Chairman of the Airports Authority of India AAI, Shri Vipin Kumar, chaired a high-level coordination meeting at AAI Headquarters in New Delhi with senior officials from the Indian Air Force, Airports Authority of India and representatives of various airlines.
The meeting focused on proposed runway works at key joint-user airports including Jodhpur, Pune and Srinagar. These airports play a crucial role in both civil and defence aviation operations and any infrastructure activity at these locations requires close cooperation among all stakeholders.
During the deliberations, participants discussed operational alternatives and reprogramming options wherever feasible. The objective was to ensure that essential runway works could be carried out efficiently while maintaining uninterrupted air connectivity and minimizing inconvenience to passengers and the public.
Stakeholders emphasized the importance of synchronizing infrastructure development with operational requirements to support the growing demand for air travel and national security needs.
The Airports Authority of India reaffirmed its commitment to developing modern, resilient and world-class aviation infrastructure. The authority highlighted that close synergy between defence establishments, civil aviation agencies and airline operators remains the cornerstone of India’s aviation growth and service reliability.
