New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Shri Ajit Kumar Panda as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR).
The appointment is effective from 1 August 2026 (forenoon) and will continue till 31 August 2028 (his date of superannuation) or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Key details of the appointment
- Pay: Basic pay of ₹3,01,310 per month in the scale of ₹2,00,000 – ₹3,70,000 (2017 IDA pay scale)
- Headquarters: Delhi
- Performance Review: His performance will be reviewed after the first year for continuance of the remaining tenure
- The appointment can be terminated by either side with three months’ notice or payment of three months’ salary in lieu thereof
The terms and conditions of the appointment are as per standard norms applicable to Board-level appointments in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), covering Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, residential accommodation, conveyance, leave, Performance Related Pay (PRP), and superannuation benefits.
The order was issued by the Railway Board, Ministry of Railways.
