BCCL Set for Major Review as PM Advisor Tarun Kapoor Visits Key Coal Projects
Dhanbad, August 31, 2026: Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) is set for a major review of its operations and key projects as Tarun Kapoor, Advisor to the Prime Minister, begins a two-day official visit to Dhanbad and nearby areas.
BCCL CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal welcomed Kapoor at Durgapur Airport. The visit will continue from August 31 to September 1, 2026.
During the visit, a review meeting on BCCL’s operations and ongoing initiatives will be held at Koyla Bhawan. Kapoor is also scheduled to visit several important projects, including the Moonidih Coal Bed Methane Project, Moonidih Longwall Project and ENA Fire Project in Kusunda Area.
The programme will also include interaction with families living in high-risk areas.
Jharia Master Plan Under Review
The visit will further focus on the Jharia Master Plan, with scheduled visits to the Belgaria and Karmatand rehabilitation sites. A review with concerned officials and stakeholders will follow.
The two-day programme is expected to provide a detailed assessment of BCCL’s major projects, mine-related challenges and rehabilitation efforts in the Jharia coalfields.
