BHEL Invites Emergency Tenders for ₹800MW North Chennai Power Project Repair Works
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Government of India enterprise, has invited quotations for urgent repair works at its 1x800MW North Chennai Thermal Power Station Stage-III project in Tamil Nadu. The tender pertains to Boiler Rear Wall Transition Panel leakage repairs and duct expansion joint (bellow) restoration, critical for maintaining operational efficiency of the power unit.
According to the tender notification issued by BHEL’s Power Sector – Southern Region, the scope of work includes attending to boiler leakage at elevation 59680, repair of duct expansion joint bellows, welding of necessary attachments, insulation removal and re-installation, and erection of required scaffolding and safety platforms. The contract period is four days, underscoring the emergency nature of the assignment.
The tender follows a single-bid process, with no Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) required. Bidders must submit their quotations via email to tender.nctps3@bhel.in. The tender opening is scheduled on January 10, 2026, at BHEL’s North Chennai Stage-III site.
BHEL has stipulated strict safety and technical compliance, including mandatory submission of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements, while ensuring zero damage to adjacent equipment. The contract is on a lump-sum basis, with payment to be released within 45 days of successful completion.
The project is a key component of Tamil Nadu’s power infrastructure, and timely execution of these repairs is expected to support uninterrupted electricity generation from the 800MW unit.
