New Delhi: Technip Energies (PARIS: TE) has secured two large contracts from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for strategic refinery expansion projects at Bina in Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai in Maharashtra, marking a significant boost to India’s downstream energy infrastructure.

The first contract involves Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) of new polypropylene and Butene-1 units at BPCL’s Bina refinery. These facilities will produce 550 KTPA of polypropylene and 50 KTPA of Butene-1, which are key raw materials for manufacturing packaging, pipes, and automotive components. The project is part of BPCL’s larger Bina Petchem and Refinery Expansion initiative, which includes capacity augmentation and development of a new petrochemical cracker complex.

The second contract covers Engineering, Procurement and Construction management (EPsCm) services for a 3 MMTPA Petro Resid Fluidized Catalytic Cracker Unit (PRFCC) at BPCL’s Mumbai refinery. This will be India’s first PRFCC unit, designed to convert heavy refinery residues into lighter, higher-value products, along with supporting auxiliary units, offsites, and utilities.

These awards strengthen the long-standing partnership between Technip Energies and BPCL, spanning over two decades. With offices across Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Dahej, and more than 50 years of operational presence in India, Technip Energies continues to play a pivotal role in delivering complex energy infrastructure projects.
