Coal India Limited successfully concluded its Three-Month Preventive Vigilance Awareness Campaign along with Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) 2025 at its Corporate Office in Kolkata, reaffirming the company’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance.

Addressing the concluding ceremony, Chairman Shri B. Sairam emphasized that vigilance is deeply embedded in Coal India’s organizational culture and must continue to thrive on the core values of trust, transparency, and probity. He highlighted that ease in performing duties and responsible discharge of roles form the foundation of a healthy work environment, driving efficiency, ease of doing business, and sustainable growth. He urged employees to act as Vigilance Ambassadors, aligning their priorities with organizational objectives to uphold transparency and accountability.

Director (Marketing) Shri Mukesh Choudhary stressed the importance of prompt resolution of customer concerns and cautioned that indecision can also attract vigilance implications.

Director (Finance) Shri Mukesh Agrawal noted that vigilance should not be viewed as an optional activity but as a fundamental obligation. He added that Vigilance Awareness Week must evolve beyond a single event into a sustained commitment integrated into Coal India’s everyday work culture.

Director (Business Development) Shri Asheesh Kumar stated that vigilance principles have been embedded across business development processes, making ethical governance a way of life in value-driven operations.

In his welcome address, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Brajesh Kumar Tripathy underlined the guiding principles of Reform, Transform, Perform, and Inform, reiterating that Coal India’s Vigilance Division follows a participative, proactive, and positive approach. He encouraged employees to take bold decisions with bona fide intent and without fear.

The ceremony also featured felicitation of departments and individuals from the Corporate Office and subsidiaries, as well as Kolkata-based academic institutions and students, for their outstanding contributions during the campaign and VAW 2025.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Director (HR) Dr. Vinay Ranjan.
