Kolkata, 8 March 2026: Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), participated in the International Women’s Day celebrations organized by Coal India Limited (CIL) to honour and recognize the vital contributions of women in the coal and mining sector.

This year’s celebration revolved around the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. – For ALL Women and Girls,” highlighting the importance of strengthening women’s rights, ensuring justice, and accelerating action towards building an inclusive and equitable society.

The HCL delegation included Mr. R S Sajwan, General Manager (HR), Ms. Sampa C Lahiri, DGM (Admn & CC), Mrs. Neha, Senior Manager (Electrical), Ms. Ankita Singh, Senior Manager (Electrical), Ms. Priya Dixit, Assistant Manager (Geology), Ms. Shweta Suman, Junior Manager (Electrical), and Mrs. Puja Chaturvedi, Chief Manager (Research & Development), who actively participated in the celebrations.

The event celebrated women leaders across departments and acknowledged their relentless efforts in driving operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability in the mining sector. Mr. Singh, while addressing the gathering, emphasized HCL’s commitment to fostering gender equality and creating opportunities for women across all levels of the organization.

This International Women’s Day celebration served as a reminder of the need for continuous efforts towards empowerment, inclusion, and recognition of women professionals in traditionally male-dominated sectors like mining.
