MTNL receives Penalty order from TRAI worth Rs 3 lakhs

State-run MTNL has announced that it has received a penalty order from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India for the payment of a financial disincentive of Rs 3 lakhs.

According to the filing made, this is to inform you that MTNL has received order dated 04.04.2025 from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for payment of financial disincentive amounting to Rs 3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs only) for contravention of the provisions of the Quality of Service of Broadband Service Regulations, 2006 (11 of 2006) by M/s. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited for the Quarter ending June 2024. The order was received by MTNL on 04.04.2025.

The exchange filing added that there is no material impact on the financial services of the board.
