New Delhi: In a major move, NCRTC (National Capital Region Transport Corporation) has inducted a high-speed Catenary Maintenance Vehicle (CMV) to strengthen OHE maintenance across the 82-km Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut corridor.

The CMV which is indigenously built and designed for 120 kmph, enables rapid movement of maintenance teams, ensuring quicker inspection, faster rectification, and improved uptime of the overhead power system.

For the first time in India, a CMV is integrated with ETCS Level 2 – Hybrid Level 3 signalling, allowing operation in Automatic Train Protection (ATP) mode. This ensures safe, efficient inspection even during narrow maintenance windows.

With its induction, NCRTC further strengthens system reliability, minimises service interruptions, and ensures a smoother, punctual, and high-quality travel experience for all Namo Bharat commuters.
