NHPC Participates in Joint Committee Meeting on One Nation One Election at GIFT City

New Delhi: NHPC Limited Director (Projects) Sanjay Kumar Singh participated in the meeting of the Joint Committee on the Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, Gujarat on May 20, 2026.

The meeting focused on the issue of simultaneous elections, popularly referred to as “One Nation One Election.”

Sanjay Kumar Singh attended the meeting along with Shri U.K. Nand, Executive Director (PMSG), and other senior officials of NHPC.

During the session, the NHPC Director (Projects) briefed the committee on the company’s ongoing hydroelectric projects, operational power stations, and future expansion plans. He also shared NHPC’s views and key points related to the proposed One Nation One Election framework.

The discussions were held as part of the broader consultation process on the Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill, 2024 and related legislative proposals concerning simultaneous elections in India.
