Hyderabad, June 2, 2026: State-owned mining giant NMDC Ltd. has achieved a significant milestone in its exploration and resource development strategy with the launch of a large-scale exploratory drilling programme across its Deposit No. 11B Iron Ore Mine (DIOM) and Kumaraswamy Iron Ore Mine (KIOM).

The ambitious initiative involves 11,000 metres of exploratory drilling and is aimed at enhancing mineral resource estimation, strengthening scientific mining practices and supporting the company’s long-term growth objectives.

The programme forms a key part of NMDC’s strategy to augment reserves, improve mine planning and ensure sustainable extraction of mineral resources. Officials said the exploration campaign will generate valuable geological data that will support resource modelling, mine optimisation and future expansion plans. The initiative also underscores NMDC’s commitment to adopting advanced exploration techniques and data-driven mining practices.
