New Delhi: ONGC has called for Expressions of Interest from global oil and gas operators and offshore drilling contractors to lease its drillship, Sagar Bhushan. The vessel is a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit and is currently well maintained and fully ready for operations.

Sagar Bhushan is an eight point anchor moored drillship that can work in water depths of up to 1000 feet. It recently received a major upgrade during its seventh Special Hull and Machinery Survey in 2023, which improved its safety and performance to meet the latest offshore standards.

The drillship follows the Gusto Pelican Class Enhanced design and has twin screw propulsion. It can accommodate more than 104 people and has a gross tonnage of 11103. Its mooring system includes Nippon Pusnes winches and Bruce 15 ton anchors.

The vessel is equipped with an NOV drilling package that includes an eighteen and three fourth inch, ten thousand psi blowout preventer, 1625DE drawworks, and high capacity mud and cement pumps. It also has a VETCO HMF riser system with strong riser tensioners, a certified twenty two by twenty two meter helideck, and heavy duty hydraulic pedestal cranes for handling equipment at sea.

Sagar Bhushan is currently berthed at Dighi Port in Maharashtra and is available for immediate deployment. ONGC has encouraged interested companies from around the world to send in detailed proposals as per the EOI guidelines.
