New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a leading public sector telecom and IT infrastructure company, has secured a major work order worth Rs 48.78 crore from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

The contract involves RailTel acting as the System Integrator (SI) for the design, development, and implementation of a Regional Information System for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, along with establishing an Urban Observatory at MMRDA, Mumbai. The project is scheduled for completion by 28th December 2027.

 

The work order was received on 3rd December 2025, reflecting RailTel’s expertise in large-scale IT integration projects for government and urban infrastructure. This achievement further strengthens RailTel’s position as a trusted provider of digital infrastructure solutions for India’s urban governance and smart city initiatives.

The company confirmed that the order is a standard domestic project and does not involve any related-party transactions.
