New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a “Navratna” Public Sector Undertaking and one of the country’s leading neutral telecom infrastructure providers, has been awarded a significant contract worth Rs 63.92 crore by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).

The order entails the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC) of an advanced ICT network, along with five years of operations and maintenance support. The project is scheduled for completion by 12 May 2031, underscoring RailTel’s capability in executing large-scale telecom infrastructure projects across India.

 

RailTel operates a Pan-India optical fiber network, providing state-of-the-art telecom infrastructure solutions to government and private enterprises alike. This new project further strengthens RailTel’s presence in the government ICT sector.

Financial Performance Highlights:
In Q2 FY26, RailTel reported a standalone net profit of Rs 76.07 crore, reflecting a 4.72% increase compared with Rs 72.64 crore in Q2 FY25. Revenue from operations rose 12.78% year-on-year to Rs 951.36 crore, demonstrating the company’s robust operational growth.

Following the announcement, RailTel shares marginally declined by 0.24% to close at Rs 330.70 on the BSE on Friday, 5 December 2025.
