Railway Board Extends HPCL Diesel Lube Oil Contract to June 2026

The Ministry of Railways has extended the running contract with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. for supply of branded Crank Case Lube Oil for diesel locomotives until 2 June 2026. Lower tender rates, if received, will apply.

New Delhi, 26 November 2025: The Ministry of Railways, Railway Board, has issued a change to the running contract with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for supplying Branded Crank Case Lube Oil for diesel locomotives. The original contract, dated 3 December 2024, was valid for one year from the issue date.

Under Amendment No. 1, the contract's validity has been extended until 2 June 2026. This extension has a condition: if lower rates come in the next tender, these rates will automatically apply during the extended period. All other terms and conditions from the original contract stay the same.

 

The amendment has been officially sent to HPCL’s Lubes & Specialties Department at Hindustan Bhavan, Mumbai, and recipients should confirm receipt. The notice has also been shared with key officials and departments, including the Director General, RDSO, Ministry of Railways, Lucknow, the F(S)III Branch of the Railway Board, and purchasers in various zonal railways, including Central, Eastern, East Central, East Coast, and Northern Railways.

This extension guarantees a steady and uninterrupted supply of high-quality lube oil, which is essential for maintaining and operating diesel locomotives throughout India’s railway network. It helps support operational efficiency and reliability.
