New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a proud subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), continues to set benchmarks in coal production and operational excellence. With an impressive portfolio of 60 coal mines spanning Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, SECL stands among the highest coal-producing subsidiaries in the country.

Of these, 35 mines are located in Chhattisgarh and 25 in Madhya Pradesh, with a perfect balance of 40 underground mines and 20 opencast mines, reflecting the company’s expertise in multiple mining techniques. SECL is also actively involved in the operational management of the coal carbonization plant at Dankuni Coal Complex, West Bengal, showcasing its commitment to enhancing value addition in the coal sector.

 

For streamlined operations and administrative efficiency, SECL’s mining activities are organized under three major groups: Central India Coalfields (CIC), Korba Coalfields, and Mand-Raigarh Coalfields. This structured approach ensures optimized production, safety, and sustainability.
