TRAI imposes penalty on MTNL worth Rs 3 lakh

State-owned Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has received order from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for the payment of financial disincentive amounting to Rs 3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs only) contravention of the provisions of the Standards of Quality of Service of Basic Telephone Service (Wireline) and Cellular Mobile Telephone Service Regulations, 2009 (7 of 2009).

The Details of violations are Contravention of the provisions of the Standards of Quality of Service of Basic Telephone Service (Wireline) and Cellular Mobile Telephone Service Regulations, 2009 (7 of 2009) for the Quarter ending June 2024.
Further, there is no material impact on the Financial, operation or other activities of MTNL.
Shares of MTNL are closed at Rs 50.52, down by 3.50% at the BSE.
