WCL Director Reviews Murpar Mine Closure, Reinforces Environmental Commitment

Shri Sandeep Paranjape, Director (Technical / P&P) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), conducted a review visit to Murpar Underground Mine to assess the ongoing mine closure activities. The visit focused on evaluating the progress of closure initiatives and ensuring adherence to environmentally responsible and sustainable practices.

The review was attended by key officials including Shri Niteen Sen, TS to D (T/P&P), Shri H B Shinde, GM (Environment), and the Environment Department team from WCL Headquarters, as well as Avinash Prasad, AGM of Umrer Area, along with other senior officials.

Shri Paranjape emphasized WCL’s commitment to systematic mine closure, environmental stewardship, and sustainable operations, highlighting the company’s ongoing efforts to minimize ecological impact while managing legacy mine sites responsibly.
