Oil India officer Gnana Kumaraswamy Batta receives Global Near Surface Geophysics Award 2025
New Delhi: Gnana Kumaraswamy Batta, Deputy General Manager Geophysics of KGB and MBP, Kakinada, Oil India Limited, has been honoured with the Global Near Surface Geophysics Award 2025 under the category Excellence in Environmental and Engineering Geophysics.
He received the prestigious recognition for his pioneering work in introducing the Full Wave Uphole Seismic Survey as an alternative to the conventional Crosshole Seismic Survey. The innovation significantly reduces environmental impact and operational costs in geotechnical investigations while supporting safer and more sustainable infrastructure development.
Senior officials and members of the Oil India fraternity congratulated Batta on the achievement, stating that his work reflects the organisation’s commitment to technological advancement and environmental responsibility.
