Indian Bank Faces RBI Penalty on Satna Currency Chest; No Material Impact
Chennai: Indian Bank has informed the stock exchanges that the Reserve Bank of India has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1,88,600 on its Currency Chest at Satna.
The penalty relates to irregularities in soiled note remittance.
In its disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the Bank stated that the penalty is linked to routine operational activities. Considering the overall size of the Bank’s operations, the amount does not have any material impact on the Bank or its profitability.
