RBI appoints Ajit Ratnakar Joshi as Executive Director
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced on Wednesday the appointment of Ajit Ratnakar Joshi as Executive Director (ED). In his new role, Joshi will oversee the Department of Statistics and Information Management and the Financial Stability Department.
Before this promotion, he served as Principal Adviser in the Department of Statistics and Information Management. Joshi brings over three decades of experience in statistics, information technology, and cyber risk management.
Additionally, he has been a faculty member at the Institute of Development and Research in Banking Technology in Hyderabad.

Joshi has also served as a member of several committees and working groups relating to the compilation of macroeconomic statistics and policy issues.
He has a master’s degree in statistics from Nagpur University, a Ph.D. in monetary economics from IIT Madras, a diploma in development policy and planning from the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi, and is a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
