ABB India Launches Next-Generation ACS380-E Machinery Drive With Advanced Connectivity and Cybersecurity
ABB India has launched the ACS380-E machinery drive featuring dual Ethernet ports, built-in cybersecurity, USB-C cold commissioning, and Industry 4.0-ready connectivity. Designed for high-performance industrial automation, the drive supports fast integration and enhanced machine efficiency.

Bengaluru, December 3, 2025 — ABB India has announced the launch of its latest innovation in industrial automation, the ACS380-E machinery drive, designed to deliver high performance, enhanced connectivity, and built-in cybersecurity for modern manufacturing environments. The product was unveiled at ENGIMACH 2025 in Gandhinagar, one of India’s leading engineering and automation exhibitions.
The ACS380-E is the newest addition to ABB’s all-compatible drive portfolio and is targeted at automation-centric machine builders who require fast integration, future-ready connectivity, and compliance with the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
Key Features: Connectivity, Cybersecurity, and Faster Commissioning
The ACS380-E drive comes equipped with dual built-in Ethernet ports, enabling plug-and-play compatibility with all major industrial automation networks. This allows machine builders to avoid separate communication modules, ultimately reducing installation time and system complexity.
To meet rising cybersecurity requirements, the drive is integrated with advanced security features and supports firmware updates via Ethernet, ensuring long-term protection and reliability for industrial systems.
A standout feature of the new drive is USB-C “cold commissioning”—a capability that lets users configure the device and update firmware even when the power is off. This significantly reduces setup time and simplifies workflows for engineers and technicians.
Designed for Industry 4.0 and a Digitized Manufacturing Future
Speaking about the launch, A.R. Madhusudan, President and Local Division Manager, Drive Products, ABB India, highlighted the increasing demand for automation and energy-efficiency solutions across Indian industries.
“As industries transition toward digital manufacturing and energy-efficient operations, it is essential that variable speed drives adapt to diverse applications across sectors. The ACS380-E equips machine builders with a future-proof drive that ensures high performance, robust cybersecurity, and seamless integration,” he said.
The drive is suited for a wide range of industrial applications, including textile, cable and wire, plastics, intralogistics, packaging systems, conveyors, extrusion lines, and multi-axis machinery. With global voltage compatibility (100–600 V) and coverage up to 22 kW, 400 V, it offers superior motor control across sectors.
Built for Compact Spaces and Smarter Automation Systems
The ACS380-E’s compact design and flexible installation options make it ideal for confined cabinet spaces. It can be easily integrated with ABB’s own AC500 PLC series as well as automation products from other major global players.
Enhanced with ABB’s Drive Composer software and compatible with Drive Composer 3, the new drive simplifies monitoring, adaptive programming, and rapid offline configuration.
Driving India’s Industry 4.0 Transformation
As India accelerates its shift toward digital factories and smart automation systems, ABB’s new machinery drive aligns with the growing market demand for connected, secure, and high-efficiency motion control technologies.
The launch reinforces ABB’s commitment to supporting India’s manufacturing competitiveness through innovative, future-ready electrification and automation solutions.
