National Fertilizers Q3 results: Net profit falls 70% to Rs 45.8 crore, shares declines over 7%

This decline is mainly attributed to lower revenue. In comparison, the company recorded a net profit of Rs 150.90 crore during the same quarter last year.

National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL), a fertilizer company, reported a 70% decrease in its consolidated net profit, which amounted to Rs 45.81 crore for the December quarter of the current fiscal year. This decline is mainly attributed to lower revenue. In comparison, the company recorded a net profit of Rs 150.90 crore during the same quarter last year. 

Total revenue also fell by 23%, reaching Rs 5,855.85 crore in the October-December quarter, down from Rs 7,584.27 crore in FY24, according to a regulatory filing. On the other hand, expenses during this period decreased to Rs 5,842.01 crore, compared to Rs 7,409.05 crore a year earlier.

During the quarter, demand remained sluggish due to low pest infestations, favorable weather conditions, and delayed seasonal patterns, affecting sales. The company reported a 14.5% decline in revenue from its core fertilizer business.

Shares of the company have witnessed a decline of 7.11%. The market capitalization of the company stood at Rs 4.52K crore with dividend yield at 0.29%.
