America First Strategy Delivers 937 Million Dollar Health Pact With Côte d’Ivoire

NEW DELHI: The United States has signed a major five year health cooperation agreement with the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire valued at 937 million dollars, marking a significant shift in how America delivers global health assistance.

The agreement is part of the America First Global Health Strategy, which focuses on protecting the American population from international disease threats while reducing long term financial dependency on U.S. taxpayers.

Under the new Memorandum of Understanding, both countries commit to a results driven partnership that emphasizes national responsibility, co investment, and accountability. The agreement establishes a clear transition toward full country ownership of health programs in Côte d’Ivoire.

Over the next five years, the United States will provide up to 487 million dollars in focused health support. At the same time, Côte d’Ivoire will invest 450 million dollars of its own resources, including 125 million dollars dedicated to fully funding frontline health workers and essential medical supplies.

The cooperation framework concentrates on preventing disease outbreaks before they become international threats. The program will strengthen disease surveillance systems, expand laboratory capacity, improve medical supply chains, modernize health data systems, and enhance frontline health services across the country.

The agreement also creates new opportunities for American companies by promoting modern logistics, digital health technologies, and supply chain solutions that are essential for managing infectious diseases.

U.S. officials stated that stronger health systems abroad reduce the risk of uncontrolled outbreaks reaching American communities and strengthen long term global health security.

The United States is expected to finalize similar multi year health cooperation agreements with multiple partner nations in the coming weeks as part of the broader America First Global Health Strategy.
