Strengthening Bilateral Ties: India–Slovenia Collaborate on Ayurveda and Trade
India and Slovenia integrate Ayurveda and traditional medicine into trade and economic discussions, fostering research, capacity building, and bilateral cooperation.

The 10th Session of the India–Slovenia Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation (JCTEC) was held in New Delhi, co-chaired by Shri Saket Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, and Mr. Peter Japelj, Director General, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia.
The meeting covered a wide range of trade and economic issues and also successfully integrated Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine into the discussions. Dr. Abhijit Dutta from the Ministry of Ayush represented India, highlighting opportunities for research partnerships, capacity building, and market access. The inclusion of traditional medicine underscores the growing recognition of India’s holistic health traditions and strengthens bilateral cooperation with Slovenia.
