SECL Signs ₹11.87 Crore CSR MoUs to Boost Healthcare & Welfare in Chhattisgarh

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, committing nearly ₹11.87 crore to improve healthcare infrastructure, early childhood development facilities, and access to safe drinking water in project-affected areas of Chhattisgarh.
The MoUs were signed at SECL Headquarters under the guidance of Shri Biranchi Das, Director (HR). The agreements were executed on behalf of SECL by Shri C. M. Verma, General Manager (CSR), in the presence of senior officials and representatives of partner organizations.
Healthcare Infrastructure
As part of its CSR initiatives in healthcare, SECL has approved projects to enhance infection control and patient safety in major government hospitals through advanced semiconductor-based air sterilization technology.
At Late Bisahu Das Mahant Memorial Government Medical College and Hospital, Korba, SECL has sanctioned ₹2.81 crore for the installation of 62 air sterilizer units in operation theatres, ICUs, labour rooms, TB wards, burn wards, and other critical patient-care areas.
Similarly, SECL will provide CSR support of ₹3.49 crore for installing 77 air sterilizer units at Kumar Sahab Swargiya Shri Dilip Singh Judeo Government Super Specialty Hospital, Bilaspur, covering operation theatres, ICUs, dialysis units, and other enclosed treatment areas.
Early Childhood Development
SECL has signed an MoU with Shrushti Seva Samiti for the development of 200 Model Anganwadi Centres in Bilaspur district at a cost of ₹4.72 crore. The project aims to upgrade infrastructure, sanitation facilities, furniture, and learning environments to strengthen early childhood care and education.
Safe Drinking Water Initiative
Under another CSR initiative, SECL has partnered with CIPET, Raipur, to distribute 3,989 domestic water filters with water treatment kits in project-affected villages of the Gevra Area. The project involves a CSR expenditure of ₹84.73 lakh and focuses on improving access to safe drinking water and public health.
Through these initiatives, SECL continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable development and community welfare in its operational areas.
