SECL Signs Rs 3299 Crore Contract with JARPL AT Consortium for Rampur Batura OCP Project
New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has formally executed a major mining agreement with M/s JARPL–AT Consortium for large-scale coal production operations at the Rampur Batura Open Cast Project (OCP) in the Sohagpur Area.
The agreement covers composite mining operations including overburden removal across different strata, extraction of coal using surface miners, and loading and transportation of coal.
The contract is awarded for a long-term duration of 10 years (3652 days) with an estimated value of Rs 3,299 crore. Under the agreement, the consortium will achieve a targeted coal production of 37.5 million tonnes, along with the removal of approximately 353.80 million cubic meters of overburden.
This large-scale project is expected to significantly enhance coal output from the Sohagpur Area and strengthen India’s energy security while supporting SECL’s production growth strategy.
The contract marks a major milestone for SECL’s Rampur Batura OCP and will contribute substantially to meeting the nation’s increasing coal demand over the coming decade.
