The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), DRDO, and the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) have signed a significant Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) under ‘Vikiran Prehri’, the flagship programme of DRDO aimed at strengthening national capacity for the medical management of radiation emergencies.

 

The collaboration is expected to enhance synergy between Armed Forces Medical Services and DRDO, enabling faster, coordinated and effective response mechanisms during radiation-related incidents and emergencies.

The MoA was signed at Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi, in the presence of:

  • Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO

  • Surg Vice Adm. Arti Sarin, AVSM, VSM, DGAFMS

  • Vice Chancellor, DIAT Pune

  • DGMS (Army/Navy/Air Force)

  • DG (SSS), DRDO

  • DG (PC & SI), DRDO

This initiative marks a major step forward in strengthening national preparedness, advanced medical training, emergency protocols, and specialised infrastructure required for radiation disaster management.
