The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed chief secretaries and administrators of all states and Union Territories (UTs) to use the emergency powers granted to them under the Civil Defence Rules amid the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan.

In order to guarantee the efficient execution of preventative measures, States and Union Territories may utilise section 11 of the Civil Defence Rules, 1968, which gives their respective Directors of Civil Defence Emergency Procurement Powers.

The government's efforts to effectively carry out the required precautions are in line with this order. Following India's Operation Sindoor, Pakistan attempted a retaliatory attack, putting several Indian districts on high alert at the moment.
