New Delhi: Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) has announced the appointment of Capt. S. Divakar as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective March 25, 2026. The move has been disclosed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The appointment was approved by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Board of Directors at their meeting held on March 23, 2026.

 

Appointment Details

Capt. S. Divakar has been appointed as:

  • Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer
  • Additional Director (Executive & Non-Independent)
  • Key Managerial Personnel (KMP)

He will serve as an Additional Director until the next General Meeting, where shareholder approval will be sought for his regular appointment. His tenure will continue until he attains the age of 60 years or until further orders.

Extensive Maritime Experience

Capt. S. Divakar brings over 38 years of experience in the dredging and maritime sector, making him a seasoned leader for the company.

  • Joined DCI in 1987 as a cadet under the All India Dredging Cadre (AIDC)
  • Served 22 years onboard dredgers, rising from Cadet to Captain and “Master of Dredger”
  • Spent 16 years in senior onshore management roles
  • Developed expertise in:
    • Dredging operations
    • Technical and commercial aspects of maritime projects
    • Strategic and operational leadership

His dual exposure to onboard and onshore operations positions him uniquely to lead the company in a competitive and evolving maritime landscape.

 

Current Roles and Directorships

Capt. Divakar also serves as a Director at Sethusamudram Corporation Limited, adding to his leadership credentials within the maritime infrastructure ecosystem.
