NTPC Appoints Abhoy Kumar Mishra as Executive Director
Dadri, June 2026: NTPC Limited has appointed Shri Abhoy Kumar Mishra, Head of Project (HOP), NTPC Dadri, as Executive Director (ED), recognizing his distinguished contribution to India's power sector spanning more than three decades.
A seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience, Shri Mishra has played a pivotal role in plant operations, maintenance planning, overhaul management and operational leadership across several major NTPC generating stations. He joined NTPC Limited on 25 October 1990 as an Executive Trainee in the Mechanical stream and has since built an illustrious career marked by technical excellence and leadership.

Born on 23 September 1966 in Odisha, Shri Mishra holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from IGIT Sarang, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, and earned an M.Tech in Power Generation Technology from IIT Delhi, equipping him with a strong academic foundation in thermal power generation and plant management.
Throughout his career, he has served at key NTPC power stations including Korba, Talcher Kaniha, Simhadri, Tanda and Dadri, where he handled diverse responsibilities encompassing operations, maintenance planning, long-term planning and outage management. Prior to his current assignment, he served as Head of Operations and Maintenance at NTPC Tanda, contributing significantly to the station's operational performance.
Shri Mishra joined NTPC Dadri in May 2025 as Chief General Manager (Operations and Maintenance) and was subsequently entrusted with the responsibility of Head of Project. On 8 June 2026, he was elevated to the position of Executive Director, reflecting NTPC's confidence in his extensive expertise and leadership capabilities.

As Head of Project, NTPC Dadri, Shri Mishra continues to spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing operational excellence, reliability, safety standards and sustainable power generation. Under his leadership, the station remains focused on maintaining high levels of efficiency while supporting India's growing energy requirements.
His appointment as Executive Director is expected to further strengthen NTPC's leadership framework and reinforce the company's commitment to delivering reliable and sustainable power to the nation.
