Shri Ravi Prakash Chaturvedi Permanently Absorbed in CONCOR – Government of India Approval
New Delhi, March 19, 2026 – The Government of India, through the Ministry of Railways, has sanctioned the permanent absorption of Shri Ravi Prakash Chaturvedi, IRTS, a senior Railway officer, into the Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR). The decision follows CONCOR’s request dated December 19, 2025, and the sanction has been issued under the President’s approval.
The absorption will take effect from January 6, 2026, marking a significant career transition for Shri Chaturvedi. He will now serve permanently in CONCOR under terms aligned with prior Ministry of Railways directives, including letters F(E)III/86/PN-1/5 (1986), F(E)III-84/PN1/4 (1987), and F(E)III-95/PN1/9 (1995).
Regarding retirement benefits, Shri Chaturvedi will draw pension and pro-rata retirement gratuity for his service under the Railways, with eligibility to commute up to 40% of his pension. The calculation of these benefits will follow the Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 1993, ensuring continuity of entitlements. It was clarified that benefits under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (1977) will not be applicable.
Additionally, the total gratuity amount for Shri Chaturvedi will be capped to the sum he would have received if he had retired directly from Railway service on the same pay as in CONCOR. Monthly pension payments will commence immediately after cessation of his Railway service.
This permanent absorption reinforces the collaboration between Indian Railways and CONCOR, highlighting career progression opportunities for Railway officers in public sector undertakings.
