Shri Vilas Sopan Wadekar Entrusted Additional Charge as Director (Project), MRVC

New Delhi, March 19, 2026:  The Government of India, through the Ministry of Railways, has approved the entrustment of additional charge of the post of Director (Project), Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd. (MRVC), to Shri Vilas Sopan Wadekar, who currently serves as Chairman & Managing Director of MRVC.

The additional charge will be effective from on or after April 1, 2026, for a period of three months or until further orders. Shri Wadekar will continue to hold his existing responsibilities as CMD of MRVC alongside the new temporary assignment.

The Ministry has requested that the date of assumption of charge be communicated to ensure proper administrative records. Copies of the notification have been circulated to senior officials of the Railway Board, Deptt. of Personnel & Training (DOP&T), and other concerned authorities to complete procedural formalities.

This temporary assignment reflects the Government’s approach to leveraging experienced leadership in key projects under MRVC, which continues to play a crucial role in Mumbai’s urban railway development and infrastructure enhancement.
