NTPC Bongaigaon Celebrates Navratri with religious fervor

Bongaigaon: Durga Puja and Navratri, the festival of good over evil organised by Festival Committee, NTPC Bongaigaon which is underway at NTPC Bongaigaon township was inaugurated on 10th October 2021 at its premises with COVID appropriate behaviour.  The five-day festivities of Durga Puja and Navratri with religious fervour was performed keeping in mind COVID appropriate behaviour.

 

On Saptami and Ashtami, Shri Subrata Mandal, Patron of the Festival Committee and ED, NTPC Bongaigaon along with Smt. Jayashree Mandal, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, and their family visited the Puja Pandal and sought the blessings of the Goddess. Shri Mandal appreciated the efforts of the Puja Committee and lauded their commitment towards keeping the township life vibrant with the festivities. He also complimented the teamwork of each member and wished that all employees and their families of NTPC Bongaigaon be showered with blessings from the divine Goddess.

 

Earlier, Shri T. Ravinder, GM (O&M) in the presence of Shri D. P. Patra, GM (Operations), Shri H.K. Brahma, Commandant CISF, Shri P Balakrishna , Asst. Commandant (CISF-Fire),  inaugurated the Panchami Puja celebrations invoking Goddess Durga and seeking her divine blessings.

 

The festival committee to light up the spirit of Puja are organising various competitions to mark the occasion. Various competitions like hit the target competition for children and employees, conch blowing competition for ladies, pass the Ball, Fancy Dress Competition, singing competition among children and family members of the township and a lively dance competition among children lit the puja evenings.The inaugural ceremony also saw an in-house cultural programme which was performed by the employees, children, and family members of the station. Puja Pandal of NTPC Bongaigaon has been aesthetically designed with a lot of creativity and attention to detail.

The main attraction of the Durga Puja was that the Dandiya was also organised with active participation from the entire gathering. People from nearby areas and communities also came to witness the festivities which was done keeping in mind the various COVID appropriate behaviour. Various departmental heads, members of the Festival Committee were also present on the occasion. Shri Ravinder in his address wished all a very happy and prosperous Durga Puja and hoped that her blessings to the station will enable all to fight against the pandemic as well as create laurels for the station in all areas of its operations.
