The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has taken a major step towards deepening India’s integration with global markets by opening direct trade pathways with 27 countries.
The initiative is expected to unlock export opportunities worth ₹6.41 lakh crore (approximately $75 billion), providing Indian businesses with direct access to high-value international consumers, particularly in Europe.
Officials said the move will significantly benefit Indian manufacturers, exporters, and MSMEs by creating a streamlined pipeline to premium global markets. By reducing barriers and improving market access, the initiative aims to accelerate scale, competitiveness, and value creation across sectors.
The integration is designed to support India’s long-term export growth strategy, strengthen global supply-chain participation, and position Indian products more firmly in high-demand international markets.
