The crowd were bifurcated into two groups, and Run (1) commenced from Bharati Stadium to Main Bazaar and Run (2) commenced from Bharati Stadium to Jawaharlal Nehru Park & both the runs came to a finish at the starting place.

NEW DELHI- As per the directions of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Fit India Freedom Run 3.0 is being organized by NLC India Limited under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Initiative from 02nd October to 31st October 2022 across all its units and projects.

In line with this, a massive Fitness Run was organised at Neyveli Township on the 28th of October 2022, to promote physical fitness and create awareness about physical & mental health among the people, wherein, more than 7000 people from all walks of life in all age groups participated in the event.

The run was flagged off by the Chairman cum Managing Director, NLCIL, Shri. Rakesh Kumar from Bharathi Stadium in the presence of Shri Saba Rajendran, Hon’ble MLA, Neyveli, Shri. K. Balasubramaniam, IAS, District Collector, Cuddalore, Shri. Shaji John, Director (Power), Shri. K Mohan Reddy, Director (Planning & Projects), Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines), Shri. L. Chandrasekar, IFS, Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL, Executive Directors and other Senior officials of NLCIL.

Smt. Kanchan Kamra, President, Sneha Opportunity Services & Chief Patron, Neyveli Ladies Club, along with the patrons and members of Neyveli Ladies Club actively participated in the event. Along with the above dignitaries and veteran sports persons in the lead, employees with their family members, representatives of trade unions and associations, students of various Neyveli schools, members of various cultural associations, CISF personnel and the general public participated in this event.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLCIL, stressed upon the significance of the Freedom Run that it encourages fitness and helps us all to get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases, etc. The Fit India Freedom Run is yet another endeavor to strengthen the Fit India Movement and involve citizens to embrace fitness as a way of life. The concept behind this run is that “It can be run at anytime and anywhere!
