NHPC signs Agreement for Development of 500 MW Floating Solar Projects
New Delhi: NHPC Limited, has signed a Promoters Agreement with Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Ltd. (GEDCOL), for "Development of 500 MW Floating Solar Projects in Odisha on 04th January 2022.
The agreement was signed by Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC and Shri Bishnupada Sethi, Chairman-cum-MD, GEDCOL in the presence of Shri Dibya Shankar Mishra, Hon'ble Minister of Energy, Govt. of Odisha, Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC and senior officers of NHPC, OHPC and GEDCOL.
GEDCOL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. (OHPC); a Gold Rated PSU of Govt. of Odisha. The main objective for creation and constitution of GEDCOL is to explore the huge renewable energy resources in the State which are other wise untapped for a long time.
GEDCOL is a board managed company and the Board functions under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Dept. of Energy, Govt. of Odisha and Chairman OHPC. The company is currently functioning at its Regd. Office situated at Bhubaneswar.
